Menstrual Cycle as a Spiritual Path
Embracing myself as a woman has brought the greatest change in my path of healing. This loving acceptance of myself has blossomed from being reminded of long forgotten feminine teachings. When I first heard this wisdom I knew in every cell of my being for it to be true. It instantaneous changed how I saw myself in this world. Because of this, it brings me so much joy to share this forgotten information with my sisters. I truly believe as we embrace all that it means to be a womban, we step deeper into our power and bring great healing to ourselves, our loved ones and the world. We do this work in deep reverence for our mothers, grandmothers and all those women that walked before us. We do this work for the generations of women that will follow.

As a woman we each have structured within us a guide to our own healing: the textbook to our spiritual path. We need only connect to ourselves to discover all of creation. Nature has blessed us with the extraordinary ability to bring life from spirit into this earthly world, housing within our womb the miracle of new life. Nothing is more powerful or spiritual than that.
Walking a spiritual path is a study of life, ignited by a curiosity of purpose and desire to live in the most beautiful of ways. As a woman we have an opportunity to experience this study of creation through our menstrual cycle. Once we begin to understand, respect, appreciate and see the magic in our own natural rhythms, we sink deeply into ourselves, our intuition, our creativity, the elements of nature and to each other. We re-learn how to love and accept ourselves, our sisters, our mothers and grandmothers. We step deeper into our power as a woman, and unveil our unique talents and passions. We restore our connection to the great cosmic uterus, divine mother, divine father and all of creation.
Cycle Awareness
Start by bringing awareness to the ebbs and flows of your monthly cycle. Discover the different phases of energy and emotions you pass through on a monthly basis. In her book “Wild Power,” Alexandra Pope describes these phases as the four seasons of the year. Winter being our time of hibernation and bleeding, followed by Spring, emerging slowly from the temple of moon time, into Summer, a time of increased excitement and energy of ovulation, followed by Fall, the preparation for winter, our time of bleeding. Each season comes with its unique energies and is experienced uniquely by each woman. Understanding ourselves in this way brings patience, acceptance and love for ourselves.

Moon-Time
The essence of the moon time ceremony is experiencing ourselves as divine beings of nature. To feel deeply in our being the power and privilege it is to be a womban in this life. It is a time to explore ourselves as creative beings, to listen to ourselves, our intuition and what we truly need to care for ourselves and be well. It is a time to cleanse, purify, heal and let go of anything no longer serving. It is a time of clear connection with the divine mother, the great uterus and divine father. It is a time to connect deeply with our earth mother, communing with her, learning with her. It is a time to honour ourselves as the powerful women we are, in our own unique way. This ceremony is your own, unique as you. Listen to yourself, trust yourself and enjoy the self-love-affair.
Once a woman starts bleeding the portal to the celestial skies is open and her moon time ceremony commences. Alternatively for women who do not bleed, the full moon represents their time of deep connection and power. Just as the moon is complete and full so is their cycles of bleeding in this life. As much time and space you can create for yourself during this time, the better. Time to be in meditation, prayer, self reflection, self care and creativity. If possible, let go of some of your usual responsibilities, honour this time and your healing process. It is a time of great power, creativity, cleansing, purification and prayer. If your life circumstances doesn’t allow you to take this space, it is ok, this is your life, your prayer and your ceremony, revise it to flow harmoniously with your life. A good practise to start is by giving yourself some time in the morning as well as in the evening for reflection, prayer and self care.

How to Use
The blood we shed has the ability to nourish new life. As our cycle progresses through the month a nutrient dense home is built lining our uterus. If an egg is fertilized it implants itself in this uterine lining and nourishes life into being. If a fertilized egg does not implant itself this lining is release in the form of our monthly blood. This blood is filled with enough vitamins and minerals to nourish life. It is also imprinted with a months worth of experiences, energies and emotions. Bleeding is a process of cleansing and cleaning all the happenings of our personal lives, the lives of our brothers and sisters and the life of the planet. This monthly cleansing allows us to truly learn how to heal ourselves. This healing happens through our reconnection with nature and mother earth by giving her our blood. Giving this vital information back is a calling home to our earth mother to let her know how we are doing, this way she knows what we need and can help us heal and grow. Our earth mother happily takes all that needs to be released.
When we connect with our earth mother, listen to her subtle ancient wisdom, we step deeper into our harmonious, divine & natural essence.
